How I Spent My RSD 18/April/2015

This is how I spent my RSD 18/April/2015

(RSD = Record Store Day)

Ramsey needed to change his arm from the Rega RB300 to SME V

something which i have no experience and cant affort

the original look of the Gyrodec with the original arm

the RB300 arm with the upgraded counterweight (there is a name to this)

and here is the 主角 SME V

Precision engineering proudly made in UK

you need minimum S$3.5k to own this "black gun"

another look from the brand new box

gorgeous arm

one of the awesome feature is the VTA dial on-the-fly

sadly, the original silver-lining leads are too tight for the Audio Technica 33PTG's pins

the chassis for the arm to sit on

took me sometime to mouth the arm to this custom made armbase

the bottom look of the armbase

pretty impressive precision aluminum mold perfect fit for the SME V

changed to the Oyaide lead wires for the AT 33PTG

all set for alignment

the side look

the close up to the Original AT33PTG

is cartridge is consider collectable item - it got to be the Mark1

the armbase lock, horizontal adjustment and VTA are totally different from the SME 3009 series

all set for 1.85g as recommended for test run

tested with Carly Simon "Coming around again" and Ramsey is happy with it

total spent 4.5hours to get this whole thing change and setup

it is a great learning for me to hand-on this deck and arm

happy RSD !
